Tottenham chase Eden Hazard, Jan Vertonghen and Damiao as Luka Modric looks out

Tottenham manager Harry Redknapp and Chairman Daniel Levy look to have a huge summer ahead of them this 2012 as the Hotspur have so far had an exemplary season and are looking to make some major moves in the transfer market.

The believed move for Belgian international starlet Eden Hazard from Lille OSChas already made this summer look bright as the player himself and his family have all claimed that London and Tottenham are his primary choice.

If the club can land such a high profile target it makes them instantly more attractive to Europe’s elite talent and the rise of the Tottenham brand will take a huge boost.

There is rumor that the club’s primary midfield playmaker Luka Modric will be seeking an exit to Manchester United in the summer according to the Daily Mirror. However, he was not allowed to leave for Chelsea this past summer and will likely not want to leave for United if the club make some major moves and improve the squad once more.

One of the biggest transfer rumors making the rounds is a proposed move for Ajax Amsterdam captain and central defender Jan Vertonghen. The Belgian defender was a primary target for North London rival’s Arsenal over the last several months but he is now being linked as the potential long term replacement for the injury plagued Spur’s captain Ledley King.

In additional news the club has also supposedly made an improved bid for Brazilian club SC Internacional striker Leandro Damiao according to the Daily Mirror.

The Brazilian attacker is believed one of the top strike prospects outside of Europe at the moment and the enticement of a move to the English Premier League is likely more than Damiao could pass up.

However, Tottenham have to meet the club’s valuation of around £15 million in order to even negotiate with the player.

Competition from other major European clubs such as newly rich Paris Saint Germain could pose a problem as Spur’s are not in the market to bully other clubs around financially and the new Financial Fair Play rules could hamper a more lucrative outlay for the 22-year-old.
