During his time at Manchester United young 19-year-old winger Ravel Morrison showed great promise on the pitch.
However, his time spent off the field was what caused many to question the player’s future. Having been involved in multiple incidents causing the club much grief and frustration the Red Devils and manager Sir Alex Ferguson decided to cut their losses in the January Transfer Window.
Morrison was moved on the West Ham United but since arriving in London has already continued to cause problems for himself and the club with his poor tact and temper.
Last week Morrison became involved with a Homosexual topic row when he made the following comment via his twitter account as quoted by the Daily Mirror:
“Crack head? Go suck out u little faggot you’re a guy that talks if u see me you try slap me I’m in Manchester every week.”
There is no word as to exactly whom or what possibly prompted the comment but it has been nothing but bad press for the London based Hammers as well as Morrison.
“West Ham United’s Ravel Morrison has been charged under FA Rule E3 for use of abusive and/or insulting words including a reference to a person’s sexual orientation.”
Morrison now has until 4pm on Friday February 17, 2012 to respond to the ruling before the FA opposes either a suspension of fine upon the player and also potentially on the club.
West Ham have yet to make a statement on the matter but could be forced to take a stand in the coming day in order to avoid even further controversy.
